During a recent visit to Arnoun, a mountain-top village in South Lebanon, our team had a firsthand encounter with Hezbollah militants. These fighters, armed with American-made M16 rifles, exhibited a fierce determination to defy Israel's incursion. Despite the ongoing conflict and the increasing death toll, Hezbollah remains steadfast in their fight for Lebanon.
Defying Israeli Incursion
Hezbollah firmly believes that their cause is not limited to a particular sect or religion. They see the war as a battle for Lebanon's sovereignty, aiming to liberate disputed territories such as Shebaa Farms and free Lebanese prisoners held by Israel. The armed militants we encountered expressed their confidence in the ultimate defeat of Israel, asserting that those who believe in God will never surrender.
Unprecedented Arab Support
Hezbollah's guerrilla warfare tactics, which involve hit-and-run strategies and continuous rocket attacks into Israel, have garnered significant support from the Arab and Muslim communities. Despite Israel's attempts to create a buffer zone by sending thousands of troops into Lebanon, Hezbollah's resilience and deadly anti-tank missiles have proven to be formidable obstacles for the IDF.
