I SPEND SUNDAY MORNINGS working in London. My morning routine is a run round Hyde Park followed by rehearsal at 8am, on air for 10am, then on a train home to Edinburgh with the Sunday papers by 12.30pm.
MY MEDIA WORK IS MOSTLY in London and I have a book coming out in a few weeks so I am often at my publisher's office there too - so, sadly, I usually use a combination of plane, train and automobile to get to work. However, I have an Edinburgh office too, which I walk to.
THE BEST HOLIDAY I'VE EVER been on is a toss-up between a six-month sabbatical in India studying Ayurveda, yoga and meditation; or a recent ski trip to the Alps where I officially became an off-piste skier, which felt fabulous.
I SUPPORT SCOTLAND IN every sport. I do seem to lean towards minority sports rather than classic football though. I also used to play badminton for Scotland before university studies and social life took precedence.
MY BEST CHARACTERISTIC is my passion: for life, for my work and my nearest and dearest. My worst is my tendency towards scattiness when it comes to paperwork and detail. I have almost resolved this with a weekly book-keeper who keeps me on top of things, but it's a struggle. Why small businesses have so much bureaucracy to deal with, I have no idea.
I DO LOVE COFFEE DESPITE knowing its downsides in nutritional terms and try not to feel guilty about it. A little of what you like is good for you in other ways I reckon.
I AM VERY BENDY; I DO LOTS OF yoga and was a gymnast when I was younger. Apart from that I speak a little bit of Thai, Hindi and Farsi besides the more common Spanish and French. I am a bit of a word sponge when I travel.
MY EARLIEST MEMORY INVOLVES a drama over a custard cream. I am sure a psychologist would tell me there's a link between that incident and me becoming a nutritionist.
THE MOST SURPRISING THING that's ever happened to me was the turn of events that meant my lifestyle choice of setting up a health retreat company (ie kick back and enjoy a relaxed existence in the Spanish mountains) would, in fact, propel a rather hectic and high-profile career, albeit a highly enjoyable one.
A PAINTING DONE FOR ME BY a Spanish artist friend is my most treasured possession, now my laptop
is backed up for letters and photos.
THERE'S NOTHINK LIKE SEEING extreme poverty first-hand or spending time in different cultures and religions to appreciate life in all its forms. I think travel, especially solo travel, is probably the best education you can get.
IF IT WAS A NON-NEGOTIABLE last Sunday of my life, I would spend it surrounded by friends and family, especially my daughter, but also
with intimate time with my man - if you have to go, best go out with a bang!
