Russell Crowe's Intense Boxing Training for Cinderella Man Role

Hollywood actor Russell Crowe is leaving no stone unturned in his preparation for his latest film role. Under the guidance of legendary trainer Angelo Dundee, Crowe is honing his boxing technique to portray the New York heavyweight champion, Jimmy Braddock, in the upcoming boxing biopic, Cinderella Man.

Dundee Training Program

Dundee, renowned for managing and training 15 world champions, including Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard, has designed a grueling fitness regimen for Crowe. The actor has invited the trainer to his remote Australian farm, where he is undergoing a workout identical to that devised by Dundee for Ali.

Running and Conditioning

Crowe's training includes three-mile runs every morning in sweltering conditions. The intense program aims to improve his endurance, shape, and muscle tone, resembling that of a professional fighter. Dundee is also focusing on refining Crowe's boxing technique and teaching him how to use the punch bag effectively.

Dundee's Role in the Film

Dundee, who closely followed Braddock's career as a boy, will serve as an advisor on the set of the film. Ron Howard, the director behind Crowe's Oscar-winning film A Beautiful Mind, is helming the Cinderella Man project. The movie tells the gripping tale of Braddock's rise to become the world champion during the challenging era of the Great Depression in the 1930s.
